Well, I’ve always been curious about dream interpretation. So, I decided to give it a shot and see if it’s really reliable. First, I started by keeping a dream journal. Every morning when I woke up, I’d grab my pen and jot down whatever I could remember from my dreams.
I wrote down the scenes, the people, the emotions, and even the little details like colors and sounds. It was a bit of a hassle at first, ’cause sometimes I could barely remember anything. But I kept at it, and after a few weeks, I had a pretty good collection of dream entries.
Then, I started looking for dream interpretation resources. I hit up the local library and borrowed a bunch of books on dream analysis. I also searched through some online forums where people shared their own dream experiences and interpretations. I read all sorts of stuff, from the classic Freudian theories to the more modern, psychological approaches.

As I read, I tried to match the symbols and themes in my dreams with what the experts said. For example, if I dreamt about flying, I’d look up what that might mean. Some said it represented freedom, while others thought it could be a sign of ambition. It was really confusing at times, ’cause different sources had different ideas.
Next, I decided to test the interpretations. I’d take a dream and an interpretation, and then I’d see if it made sense in my real – life situation. For instance, if a dream about water was supposed to mean emotional turmoil, I’d think about how I was feeling lately. Sometimes, it seemed to fit, but other times, it was way off.
After a few months of this process, I realized that dream interpretation is a bit of a mixed bag. There were times when an interpretation seemed spot – on. Like once, I dreamt about losing my teeth, and at the same time, I was really stressed about a big project at work. The interpretation that losing teeth could mean anxiety about appearance or performance kind of made sense in that context.
But there were also plenty of times when the interpretations just didn’t work. I dreamt about a purple elephant once, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t find a reasonable explanation that related to my real life. It was just a random, wacky dream.
In the end, I’d say dream interpretation isn’t completely reliable. It can be fun and give you some insights, but it’s not an exact science. You can’t always count on it to tell you what’s really going on in your head. It’s more like a tool for self – exploration, rather than a crystal ball that predicts your future or reveals your innermost thoughts with 100% accuracy.
